Could BTS Bring Higher Ratings? & ARMY reaction.
ARMY, as always, has been speculating about the AMAs. ARMY has asked the question of if the AMAs will see higher ratings this year, perhaps from a younger demographic, as global audiences will actively stream and engage with the show online. BTS is sure to drive massive online traffic from global ARMY, as well as the shows' international fans, like our writer Lewis Hooper, who loves to watch the short performances once they are aired. Why the BTS Performance Matters for the AMAs
In recent years, the AMAs have sadly struggled due to declining ratings. With BTS performing at this year's show, AMA producers are hoping that the show's ratings will increase with a younger audience and demographic; this is also thanks to the huge following that BTS has globally.
Social Media Takeover
TikTok, X, Instagram, and blogs around the world have been dominated by news about BTS performing at the AMAs this year. Since the announcement of BTS's world tour, clips, theories, and non-stop ARMY engagement have flooded socials and forums. Could the rise in social media interest push more viewership and interest towards the AMAs? The Dojeon Media team certainly hopes so.
BTS Dominates the Stage with "Hooligan"
The Dojeon Media team is aware that shows such as the AMAs are a great chance for talents to promote their new music, so for us, we expected 'SWIM' to be on their playlist. Fans have also speculated that classics such as "Dynamite", "Butter", or even a brand-new unreleased track could be performed. But what we didn't expect was their epic performance of 'Hooligan'!
Leather Jackets, Boots, and Sunglasses
Decked out in studded black leather jackets and baggy pants, black boots, and black sunglasses, the boys didn't disappoint in the fashion department either! Taking inspiration from the early 2000s "goth look", BTS rocked the stage with their charisma and energy!
'SWIM' Takes "Song of the Summer" & "Artist of the Year"
Holding a yellow rubber duck, BTS's leader, RM, thanked ARMY for their continuing massive support, proving that BTS isn't "just a boy band from Korea". It was a cute and memorable sight as you can see the excitement and happiness from the members. It has been 4 years since their last awards at the AMA's for "Favorite Duo or Group Pop/Rock", "Favorite Pop Song", and "Favorite K-pop Artists" back in 2022.
BTS also claimed the biggest award of the night for "Artist of the Year", a big accomplishment for ARMY, as it is a fan-voted award. Once again, RM showed why BTS rules the world by thanking ARMY first!
Final Thoughts
The Dojeon Media team can't stop smiling at how far BTS has come since their humble beginnings. With the addition of KATSEYE raking in three awards: "Best New Artist", "Best Music Video", and "Breakthrough Artist", will K-pop artists continue to break through into the biggest music industry in the world?
