Let's break down what happened in this crazy yet so-addicting drama! In our last article about Red Ballon , we couldn't figure out whether it was a melodrama or comedy. Or both? After this weekend's finale, we definitely would have to go with melodrama with a couple of comedic elements. This cast of crazy mixed-up characters with their emotions all over the place finally "adulted up" at the end! We couldn't have wished for a better ending! She comes to him to say her last farewell as she decides to become a volunteer and leave Korea. Nam Chul still can't figure out his feelings so he hesitates and at the last minute, runs after Eun San. But it's too late and he isn't able to tell her how he feels. Meanwhile, Jo Eun Kang ( Seo Ji Hye ) is dealing with the lawsuit that her ex-best friend Han Ba Da ( Hong Soo Hyun ) has slapped her with. She is in despair as she pleads with Ba Da to drop the suit. Driven by rage, Ba Da drags her father-in-law and his family to Ba Da's parents' house to unveil who they really are. By then, Eun Kang and her family are on their knees begging for forgiveness as they are exposed for taking advantage of a rich family. All of this revenge and torture against Eun Kang while she prepares for her first day as a teacher is becoming too much for Ba Da as she struggles with her inner emotions as a friend. Her mother decides to put a banner up in front of Eun Kang's future school naming her an "adulteress with her friend's husband" to ruin any chances of regular life. Ba Da decides that it is too much for her and decides to drop all charges against Eun Kang. Eun Kang sees Ba Da fight with her mother about their 20 years of friendship and says that enough is enough and tells her mother to stop with the banner. She gets a chance to teach her first day of school but eventually punishes herself by putting in her letter of resignation after the first day. Ba Da meets up with her to tell Eun Kang that she has dropped all charges and that she should continue teaching. Eun Kang tells her best friend that she needs to quit in order to punish herself for what she did. As the two begin mending their friendship, everything starts to come back together. Nam Chul is back with his wife and children, Eun San and Nam Chul are on good terms emotionally, and Go Cha Won ( Lee Sang Woo ) and Eun Kang have a close friend relationship as she takes a job at a rural school as a teacher. The revenge taxi service based on the webtoon The Deluxe Taxi supported by a very talented and funny cast is back to grace the screen. Here are three reasons why Taxi Driver 2 is must-watch tv! Just after two episodes into the second season and there's already a buzz going around saying "this might be one of the best K-dramas of the season!" With amazing movie quality cinematography, exotic locations, and a good storyline, the cast has a tremendous advantage in bringing out their best character development! 1. Character Relationships Relationships between the characters is what always marks a good drama. This drama is no different. The easygoing banter between the main characters on the "Taxi crew" are often very funny and relatable. They are able to show their human side by sometimes expressing fear during dangerous situations. Coming off of its best performance of the season, TV Chosun's Red Balloon starring Seo Ji Hye has reached a new high! It's latest episode that premiered on February 19 drew an astonishing 10.057% nationwide viewership rating, the highest yet, according to Nielsen Korea! After watching this episode, it got us thinking as to what type of drama this was since it has many confusing scenes. Let's break down what happened! **This contains spoilers! Following a painful discovery that both Go Cha Won ( Lee Sang Woo ) and Ji Nam Chul ( Lee Sung Jae ) are both cheating on their wives, they decide to get drunk together and console each other. As Nam Chul drops Cha Won back at his house, Cha Won drunkenly calls Jo Eun Kang ( Seo Ji Hye ) to apologize for his behavior. Since Eun Kang is sick, her sister, Jo Eun San ( Jung Yoo Min Red Shoes 2021) picks up the phone and is disgusted by Cha Won and tells him that she will see him. The next morning, Han Ba Da's mother, goes to check on Cha Won and imagines that he and Eun Kang are making out on the living room couch. Much to her deliriousness, she is just imagining things and apologizes to Cha Won for acting poorly towards him and asks him to stop the divorce to get back with Ba Da. Meanwhile, Eun Kang's uncle, Jo Dae Geun has been found out by Nam Chul that he has been cheating his wife, Ko Geum Ah. Nam Chul asks Dae Geun to quietly stop seeing Geum Ah and Dae Geun is torn with the decision. There is some good news as we find out that Eun Kang has passed her teacher's exam! Her family is estatic and celebrate the good news! The weird thing about this situation is that Cha Won decides to make their relationship official and tell his parents. As soon as they find out that she has passed her teacher's exam, they accept her? Before, when she had no job and was working part-tim gigs they didn't even respect her as a human being, so we're kind of torn about this part in the story. As Ba Da soon begins to hear rumors that Eun Kang and Cha Won have officially begun dating, she hatches her plan to get back at both of them. Bringing us.... To the car scene! This scene is both hilarious and disturbingly weird at the same time! Ba Da decides to call Eun Kang up to go on a girls trip to the ocean. On the way in the car, Eun Kang decides to break the tension by turning on the radio where the announcer says,"The suspect threw the victim into the ocean and strangled them to death. They have been friends for 30 years. The suspect and victim decided to go on a trip and the victim was drugged." Hilariously stating the obvious parallel situation, Eun Kang is hesitant when Ba Da asks her if she wants a cup of coffee. Ba Da tests Eun Kang's trust by asking her to drink the coffee which she brought. The episode ends with Eun Kang bringing the cup to mouth with shaking hands. What did you think about this episode? A Turkish soldier saved a little Korean girl in 1950, and a Korean soldier saved a little Turkish girl in 2023! South Korea sent rescue workers of 118 members to Turkey on February 11, 2023 from a disaster relief team to unload relief supplies from an Air Force KC-330 military tanker aircraft according to YONHAP. 118 first-team members, including 43 soldiers from the Korea Emergency Relief Unit Special Forces, were dispatched to rescue/relief activities for earthquake damage in Turkiye, returned from their duties on the morning of the 18th. Even Korean celebrities donated to help victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria! A photo was taken where a Korean soldier helped a little Turkish girl by giving her some water, and another Korean solider helped another Korean girl from an apartment from failing. Recently, they released a cheer video, asking the fans for an official fandom name, and several streaming events.In a somewhat calculating fashion, Metaverse Entertainment is not stopping. On February 20, Kakao will launch a video comic to spread more information about MAVE called “MAVE: Another World” The webtoon will show how the girls crashed into earth from outer space and then auditioned to become idol trainees. Turn That Frown Upside Down MetaVerse Entertainment posted YouTube videos about dance practice using MAVE’s “Pandora”. The video had confused me because I thought I was watching MAVE. Instead, they were just professional dancers and very real people who were not singing. Why would you post this Metaverse Entertainment? It’s not the real MAVE. It’s just a group of professional dancers. A group of really good dancers that actually deserve a lot of respect for this performance. Watching real dancers perform the AI dance seemed oddly motivating ( who played Dance Revolution? ) Deep Fake Love! The controversary going around the internet is a natural reaction to the unnatural concept of AI for KPOP. People are worried that these robotic lifelike characters will take away from real artists. It was disappointing to not find real singers behind MAVE (I will keep trying!) Is it the mystery that is appealing to its current new fandom? Or is this AI technology so advanced that with the use of Deep Learning, Deep Fake, and Avatar technology, no one can tell the difference between what sounds and looks real versus what is not real. Will no one ever know what was real and what was not behind MAVE? Heartless for Real Hearts The popularity of K-pop can help actual artist take a break. They can use their AI twins to perform for their fans. The AI versions can communicate with fans. The industry itself is filled with horror stories of individuals who have had their mental health go bad from the experience of training as an idol. Perhaps the AI avatar could be a creative outlet for those who cannot be seen but want to be heard. But, again the difference with other KPOP groups is that MAVE doesn’t really need to take a break since it is complete AI. This group has the right amounts of pixels and discipline to be the perfect KPop Idol with no known voice or real face. The label also does not have to worry about scandals. Some people also believe that there is no demand for this. However, one could also argue that at one point in time, there was not a demand for cellphones. There was not a demand for AirPods or AirPads. Minds could find a change of heart from things that have no heart. MAVE, I Choose You! The reality of MAVE is that they are virtually here. This group has made 13 million users watch their debut video. People are interested because MAVE has all the things that people generally want. I see a fusion of several worlds colliding that already exist into what is now the Metaverse. What will the collision of these new worlds bring? The fun of Kpop is that there are options to choose your fandom, your bias, and who do you stan? Different companies and different fandoms. If MAVE crash landed in their “universe”, where are the others? Lina is one Metaverse Entertainment’s first virtual idols who is currently “working” at entertainment events. She is also supposed to have her four-member group debut one day. Will they compete against MAVE? Who will Lina's group be? What are things that video games have? Battles. Well, dancers have battles as well. How fun would a gaming battle be between virtual K-pop groups? AI Kpop idols will have the advantage of no physical limitations. They will also have no emotion repercussions from label abuse, fan abuse, and psychological harm. Is the Metaverse a safer world for AI and could this be the Metaverse be an area where human Kpop idols can satisfy their fandoms but gain reprieve in the real world? If Metaverse follows gaming fashion, I hope they make their photocards like Pokemon cards. The introduction to MAVE already had a Pokemon like vibe when it showed the statistics of each members’ personality. This could be the beginning of a whole entire universe of collectible AI Kpop Idols. Can I get a Pikachu Kpop idol that dances with lightning bolts? I know a far fetched idea, but who knew we would be here with MAVE? Pandora Box Opened! The summarized story of Pandora’s box is that the box contains elements that will destroy the world. If MAVE held Pandora’s box, then this world is the Metaverse. The main supporting players of Metaverse Entertainment would be the gateway to a plethora of open space for AI to grow using KPOP. The real resource will always remain to be the data collected from real humans. It is a matter of how you look at the box. Will you think of these artists in our world or rather we are looking into the Metaverse world? Will you be able to love something heartless? The answer should already be yes to those who have had existing avatars, loved anime and cartoons. No one will ever beat our real Kpop idols. But, who do you know that has a ton of BT21 with the Army cloud looking cartoon? Who dressed up as anime cosplay for Halloween? Who logged into the Metaverse to watch a concert? I don't think MAVE is making new waves, but I believe at 13 million views on YouTube, they are certainly making waves. Hye Joo's Finds Closure With Her Childhood Best Friend Hye Joo's childhood best friend, Jin Seung Hee ( Ryoo Hyoun Kyoung Cheer Up 2022), has been a constant thorn in her side always threatening her with exposing the "truth" about how her brother was framed by Hye Joo. Seung Hee finally finds out the truth when her mother slips up and confesses to lying about her brother. She finds out that her brother was the one who actually sexually molested Hye Joo during high school and eventually goes back to Hye Joo apologizing to how she's been treating her. The two share a heart-warming scene looking at each other and reminiscing about their close high school friendship. Ending Thoughts It was a slow but thrilling ride as this 16-episode series comes to an end! There was some heartbreak, tears were shed, and a feeling of closure gave us a clean ending we all expected! We're mostly glad that Hye Joo finally got the ending she deserved; a friendship renewed with her best childhood friend, a better relationship with her daughter, forgiving and looking out for her close victimized friend, and a good clean cut/divorce from her monster of a husband. Let us know whether you enjoyed this drama or not! We feel that although it was a good drama, it wasn't the best.
