BTS’s leader, RM, is known for his thoughtful recommendations, often sharing the books, films, and shows he's currently enjoying. One standout on his list is Pachinko, the critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series.

RM gave it a quiet nod through his Instagram story, where he shared a scene from the show, instantly catching the attention of fans. Based on Min Jin Lee’s bestselling novel, Pachinko spans four generations and tells the powerful story of Sunja, a young Korean woman whose life unfolds during the Japanese occupation of Korea.

The series tells a powerful story about identity, resilience, and family, with beautiful visuals and deep emotions. Adding an extra layer of connection, actress Minha Kim, who portrays the young Sunja, later appeared in RM’s music video for “Come Back to Me” from his album Right Place, Wrong Person. Pachinko is available for streaming on Apple TV+.

2. Jin – Boys Over Flowers (2009)

It seems Lee Min Ho's dramas are a favorite among BTS's hyung line (older members), with Jin recommending Boys Over Flowers. The series stars Lee Min Ho as Gu Jun Pyo, an arrogant heir who meets the spirited and strong-willed Geum Jan Di (played by Koo Hye Sun). As their paths intertwine, he begins to change for the better because of her influence. While the drama may feel a bit cheesy and hasn't aged perfectly, it's undeniably nostalgic and remains a beloved classic in the K-drama world. You can stream it on Netflix and Prime Video.

3. SUGA – Sky Castle (2018-2019)

SUGA recommended Sky Castle, widely regarded as one of the best K-dramas. This gripping thriller centers on four elite families living in a luxurious neighborhood named SKY—an acronym for Korea’s top universities: Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University. The mothers are fiercely ambitious, willing to go to extreme lengths to secure their children’s academic success. Dark, intense, and often hard-hitting, Sky Castle offers a sharp critique of societal pressure and parental obsession. It’s a must-watch and is available on Netflix.

4. J-Hope – When the Camellia Blooms (2019)

J-Hope recommended When the Camellia Blooms, a heartwarming romantic drama with elements of crime and suspense. The story follows Oh Dong Baek (played by Gong Hyo Jin), a single mother and orphan who moves to the quiet, fictional town of Ongsan and opens a bar named Camellia. As she navigates the challenges of raising her child alone, she meets Yong Sik (Kang Ha Neul), a kindhearted and determined police officer who falls for her. When a serial killer targets Dong Baek, Yong Sik steps in to protect her at all costs. With its gentle pace, emotional depth, and underlying tension, When the Camellia Blooms is a beautifully layered story. It’s available for streaming on Netflix.

V, the only BTS member who has explored acting—appearing in Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth in 2016—is known for his close friendships with actors like Park Seo Joon, Park Hyung Sik, Park Bo Gum, and Choi Woo Sik. He often shares K-drama recommendations with ARMYs on Weverse and Instagram.

One drama he strongly recommended is Navillera, a touching and uplifting story about two aspiring ballet dancers, played by Song Kang and Park In Hwan. The series beautifully captures their intergenerational friendship as they encourage each other to dream big and pursue their passion for ballet. It’s especially heartening to see two men connect over a traditionally feminine art form. Navillera is streaming on Netflix.

Jung Kook has a playful and creative way of recommending K-dramas to ARMYs—often during his spontaneous Weverse lives where he's singing OSTs, doing chores, impersonating characters, or simply chatting while eating or drinking. One such drama he hinted at and fans quickly picked up on was Twenty-Five Twenty-One. This nostalgia-filled series beautifully explores themes of love, friendship, ambition, and the bittersweet journey of growing up. While it’s emotionally stirring and at times heartbreaking, it ultimately leaves viewers with a sense of warmth and fulfilment. Twenty-Five Twenty-One is available to stream on Netflix.
